Nature of Words
Writing workshops, inspired by nature
For Individuals & Groups
As a non-fiction writing coach, I will work one-on-one with individual writers to help them gain additional skills and polish their work. My fee is generally by the hour (minimum two hours), but we can also work out a plan that suits your purposes should you need coaching on an extended basis, or regular instruction.
In group settings, I help both novice and seasoned writers uncover the joys and benefits of artistic expression through a variety of writing workshops. By using writing as a tool to enhance the free flow of creativity, inner intuition and understanding of self, participants explore the complexities of real life through the craft of non-fiction writing.
Whenever possible, I prefer to hold workshops in rural venues, inns, and heritage buildings with beautiful outdoor spaces so participants can move into the heart of nature where we find our true creative source.
“For words, like Nature, half reveal, and half conceal, the soul within.”
~ Alfred Lord Tennyson
For Conferences & Organizations
Writing serves many purposes beyond creative expression. You might consider a full day writing workshop for professional and skills development in the workplace, or a two-hour session as a health and wellness option for conferences. I’ve worked with non-profit organizations, government, educational institutions, within the prison system, and for professional associations, such as the Dairy Farmers of Canada, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Maritime Writers’ Workshops, Professional Writers’ Association of Canada (PWAC) and the Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick (WFNB).
In April 2012, I traveled to rural Haiti delivering a series of therapy writing workshops at the invitation of Medical Ambassadours of Haiti to promote inner health and well-being, as well as community and personal development.
Let’s talk. Contact me to discuss how I can structure a workshop for your specific needs.
